Spring Bear Pow-wow saw about 50 dancers, and over 450 total visitors during the day at a new location. Master of Ceremonies Bernard Cottonwood and Arena Director Justin Warner kept things moving with lots of intertribal dancing and social dances. Bernard has the tradtional MC sense of humor!

Denver All Nations Singers led the singing for the day. joined by several other drums. Other drums included: Plenty Wolf, Denver Singers, and Tiwahe. The singing was spirited and kept the dancers on their feet. Good songs and good feelings. Yeah!

Internationally know recording artist Calvin Standing Bear provided entertainment during the dinner hour. His flute music and songs were a special gift. Calvin also had his CD's available for purchase.

Admission was free to all visitors. A free printed program gave information about the head staff, tips for pow-wow enjoyment, and other great information. Our "Not-a-raffle" drawing offered chances at several lovely prizes, including a hand-made ladies' dance shawl, several works of art donated by our vendors, and more.

Alisa Limvere & Brenda Aldrich and the kitchen staff served up frybread, Indian tacos, green chili, hot dogs, and nachos. Good Stuff!

Spring Bear 2004 featured 22 of the area's finest vendors including: alterNative Voices, Judy Blake, Eva Groves, Sheenasha Begay, Orr's Outpost, Connie Garcia, Four Corners Flutes, Mable Teller, Margaret Langworthy, Monica Rains, Ernest & Vangie Bennie, and Priscilla Saavedra. Visitors could take home a really special gift.
